Your next step
Once you've completed the Sport Rehabilitation or Pain Management programmes, the Occupation, Training and Employment (OTE) pathway is where that progress turns into a plan — building the skills, confidence and connections you need to move into work that fits you.
What OTE offers
Finding work or meaningful occupation while navigating life with injury or illness can be very challenging. We understand this difficulty, so we have a support pathway specifically to help veterans find a career that fits their needs and skillset — ensuring they're better prepared for working life as they adjust to life after service.
Your Mentor and our OTE Programme Manager work with you to build a plan around where you already are, which typically includes:
- An initial conversation about your goals, skills and what's realistic given where you're at in your recovery
- CV and interview preparation, tailored to civilian roles
- Identifying training or qualifications that open up the right opportunities
- Introductions to employers already engaged with SWV, where a good fit exists
- Ongoing support once you're in a role, not just up to the point you start
A proven track record
With SWV's 90% success rate, our work is essential to allowing veterans to regain independence and purpose, helping them on a more positive road following injury, illness and mental health challenges.
