20–24 September 2026 | Hope Valley, Peak District
If you’re a veteran or have recently left the Armed Forces and are new to Supporting Wounded Veterans, the Peak District Challenge is a chance to get outdoors, meet other veterans and find out more about the support and community available through SWV.
Taking place in the beautiful Hope Valley, the event combines rock climbing and hill walking over several days. You don’t need any previous climbing experience — the activities are open to all abilities, including complete beginners.
There is no pressure to be anything other than yourself. You can walk and talk with others, share experiences if you want to, or simply enjoy the scenery and some time outdoors. The aim is to provide a relaxed, supportive environment alongside people who understand military life.
The event is being run by Supporting Wounded Veterans, with support from Climb 2 Recovery, and is particularly aimed at new service leavers and veterans who would like to discover what SWV can offer. There are 20 places available.
Whether you’d like to try something new, return to an activity you once enjoyed, meet new people or simply get out into the fresh air, we’d be delighted to welcome you.
