Morgan's Story
Read their story
"I approached SWV in 2019 asking for help with accessing their pain clinic to help me get off my medication that the NHS wouldn't help me get off of. SWV stepped up and helped me gain access to the clinic and also decided throwing me down a mountain would help me, and to my surprise it really did! The Ski Week ignited a love for sport that I never knew existed in me, gave me a new focus and proved I could still achieve things that I thought were impossible.
I came back in 2021 as a Vet Rep to try and give back something to the charity and have completed two fundraisers to raise some money for SWV (both climbing Snowdon). I have also gone on to win a Silver medal at the British Indoor Rowing championships (2019) and two gold medals at the same competition (2023) as well as representing the UK at the Invictus Games 2023 in Dusseldorf where I managed a bronze medal in Indoor Rowing.
Nothing I have achieved since 2019 would have been possible without SWV and for that I am eternally grateful. My life is now about trying to give back and to help fellow veterans move forward with their lives."
Morgan has gone on to set up the incredible Access to Technology Foundation. This amazing organisation helps Veterans to access the technology that they need. This not only helps to alleviate social isolation, but also increases their access to learning and training opportunities, ultimately improving career prospects and a positive integration into civilian life.
