Good evening and an enormous welcome to the SWV Carol Concert 2020

 

Firstly, thank you ALL for joining us virtually this evening. We are delighted to be able to bring our talented performers, readers and wonderful music directly into your homes, so crack open something fizzy, surround yourself with canapés and settle down for an evening of carols, singing and celebration!

Tonight is, most importantly, about raising money for the SWV programmes that support our Veterans including our sports rehabilitation, employment, mentoring, pain resilience and pain management programmes.

​

We are also raising money for our new PIONEER FUND which our patron, General Sir Nick Carter, will be speaking to you about during the concert. Ground-breaking trials are in motion to treat PTSD and depression, but funding is crucial and we need to raise £1m to enable the first stages of these trials to take place.

​

Tonight you can also donate to SWV via the THE BIG GIVE CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE 2020, a nationwide match funding scheme which means that every online donation made via The Big Give until midday 8th December will be DOUBLED. Donations adding up to £15,000 will be doubled and contribute towards our £40,000 target.

​

Finally, tonight is a night for shopping. Our SWV AUCTION is the ONLY place to buy your Christmas presents this year. With holidays, cooking days, fishing experiences, Cessna flights and country houses, your generosity will not only help our Veterans, but will also make your loved ones DELIGHTED come Christmas morning! Please note the auction closes at 9pm on 16th December.
